چکیده
Breslow tumor thickness is a major prognostic factor for melanoma. As it based on histopathological evaluation, not available to aid clinical decision making at the time of melanoma diagnosis. In this work, we assessed efficacy multispectral imaging (MSI) predict and developed classification algorithm determine optimal surgical safety margins. First, excluded nevi from analysis with use novel quantitative parameter. Based parameter, could differentiate melanomas sensitivity 89.60% specificity 88.11%. This initial step was followed by categorization into three different subgroups (≤1 mm, 1-2 mm >2 mm) 78.00% 89.00% substantial agreement (κ = 0.67; 95% CI, 0.58-0.76). We compared our results performance dermatologists dermatology residents who dermoscopic images these reached 60.38% 80.86% moderate 0.41; 0.39-0.43). results, method may prediction appropriate margins curative excision.

Multispectral imaging of formalin-fixed tissue predicts ability to generate tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes from melanoma
BACKGROUND Adoptive T cell therapy (ACT) has shown great promise in melanoma, with over 50 % response rate in patients where autologous tumor-reactive tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) can be cultured and expanded. A major limitation of ACT is the inability to generate or expand autologous tumor-reactive TIL in 25-45 % of patients tested. Methods that successfully identify tumors that are no...
متن کاملNon-invasive Melanoma Diagnosis using Multispectral Imaging
The early analysis of pigmented skin lesions is important for clinicians in order to recognize malignant melanoma. However, it is difficult to differentiate it from benign skin lesions due to their similarity based on their appearance. Since melanoma has a tendency to grow inside the skin and the depth of penetration of light into the skin is wavelength dependent, a multispectral imaging acquis...
متن کاملThe impact of factors beyond Breslow depth on predicting sentinel lymph node positivity in melanoma.
BACKGROUND In addition to Breslow depth, the authors previously described how increasing mitotic rate and decreasing age predicted sentinel lymph node (SLN) metastases in patients with melanoma. The objectives of the current study were to verify those previous results and to create a prediction model for the better selection of which patients with melanoma should undergo SLN biopsy. METHODS T...
متن کاملMalignant Mucosal Melanoma of the Maxillary Sinus
Sinus mucosal malignant melanoma, is a rare type of melanoma with poor prognosis which is usually occurred in the adults. This is a rare case of a 33-year-old man presenting 2-week-long headache and nasal obstruction with the emphasis on the importance of Immunohistochemical staining to help the diagnosis.
متن کاملSentinel lymph node biopsy correctly predicts regional lymph node recurrence in trunk malignant melanoma with multiple drainage basins
We report a young male with an initial excisional biopsy report of melanoma of the lower back, referred to our hospital for complete excision and sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy. Four peritumoral intradermal Tc-99m phytate injection was performed and SLNs were detected in both axillary and right inguinal regions. On the biopsy only the right axillary SLN was metastatic leading to right axilla...
